About Creekside STEAM
Why do we need STEAM?
The 21st Century job market is demanding more math, science, and technology. To be successful, students need to be prepared. At Creekside, we use the educational approach STEAM (science, technology, engineering, the arts, and math) to guide students in critical thinking, communication, and questioning. STEAM encourages risk taking, team work, and problem solving.
What can I expect from
a STEAM Lesson?
STEAM lessons incorporate not only the most or all of the 5 areas, but the following:
A) a focus on a real life issue
B) uses the STEAM design process
C) allows multiple answers and shows how failure can turn into success
D) uses higher level thinking in math and science
E) encourages teamwork towards and common goal
F) allows for hands-on learning and exploration

Shark Tank 2019
Shark Tank is for 5th Grade.
Shark Tank is closed for this year! Congrats to all the winners!
About Shark Tank
Since Toys R Us has closed; purchasing toys for the holidays seems to be more difficult. Your job, if you choose to accept it, is to create a toy from recycled material (at least 50%). Your toy must also be sturdy and stable. Why? Because when consumers buy a toy they expect it to last and not break easily. How will you develop your design? Engineers often follow an engineering design process and use this process to solve a series of steps to solve many problems that may come up with when designing a prototype.
